my first experement with using paper mache clay. I got the reciepe from here:
http://ultimatepapermache.com/paper-mache-clay

it turned out a bit lumpy this time so next time I think I might try the technique she uses in her video with the plastic wrap and the knife to smooth it.

The mane and tail are Tibetian lambs wool

Thank you both very much! :D
From the feet up to the withers(shoulders) its about 9 1/2 inches, but to the highest point of the neck its almost 12 1/2 in tall.

Fascinating horse design; I love all the intricate little patterns all over the body. The hair adds a lot of realism as well. Great job!

Oh Erin- your horse is magnificent! I love all your work but the horse- WOW! An he's a draft horse, even better! I've never seen anything like it before. Really, really cool!

Your horse figure is fantastic! The colours and detailed decorations really highlight the gorgeous shape of the horse's body, and the wool mane and tail look great. I think you got an extremely good result with that paper clay stuff - I tried modelling with it a couple of times myself, from that recipe, and found it incredibly difficult to work with - so extra kudos for that!
