New Tutorial - Miranda Rook's Pulp - Using the glossies!

Some people avoid glossy magazine paper and others swear by it. Miranda Rook uses nothing but!

See Miranda's technique using the glossies and egg box cartons:

The results speak for themselves - check out Miranda's gallery:

Re: New Tutorial - Miranda Rook's Pulp - Using the glossies!

She has some beautiful work posted here.  I love the Rook!

I've never quite understood the aversion to glossy paper, as the main difference was usually the inclusion of clay.

I will differ with her on the drying of the finished pulp, though.  I made a fairly large batch of regular pulp and formed it into balls about 2.5" (6 cm) across, and ran into a mold problem inside.  Of course, I live in what could be referred to as a 'moist' environment, so they probably didn't dry fast enough to the center.  Since then, I make flat patties about 1/2" (1 cm) thick, and have had no problems.

Thanks for the compliments, and you make an excellent point, sheets or slices are better to stack when dried too
