liquid starch

Hello all,

Reading through previous forums I have noticed that a lot of you use liquid starch for your papier mache.  I know Rozani swears by it.  My question is should I dilute it and is it any use for pulp.

Any advice would be appreciated, can't wait to get going

Thanks,

Vicky

Re: liquid starch

Hi Vicky.

Don't dilute it.  Yes, it works very well with pulp.  Here's a tip:

Allow the liquid starch to sit out overnight or out in the sun for a little while until it becomes tacky.  Add pulp and voiala!  Work it like clay from that point.  However, drying time will be quicker because it's thicker.

Experimentation is the key with any medium.  Also, pulping can be accomplished within the starch in its liquid, not tacky state.  Some prefer to create pulp using water.  It's all relative to what works best for you.

Have fun and keep us posted.
