PVA

Somebody told me that they had heard after a period of time PVA turns brown. I'd be interested to know if anyone else has heard this or has experience of it as this person was unsure of the source for this information.

Re: PVA

The only problems I have had with discolouration after time is with "clear" polyurethane varnish. If you use it over something you have painted white, it looks like it has been left in a smoky pub for a couple of months!

Re: PVA

I have been making papier mache for almost four years now, and the pieces I have used pva glue on have not discoloured.  I would advise against using latex glue (marketed as Copydex etc in the UK), as this does go brown/yellow very quickly.
