New here

Hello you all,
Finally I am able to post messages and react on other messages.
Life is hard when you are a bit afraid of computers and when they do things you do"'nt expect them to do.
I am Dorine ,I am from the Netherlands and new to this forum.
I am happy With all the information I did find here and it  opened my eyes for new ways of working.
I have been working with PM during my work as a teacher,as a mother ,at school when my kids had that age and I helped with creativitylesssons at there school discovered  and finally idiscovered that I liked to do it for myself.I made bowls ,jewellery ,things to decorate.etc.
After that I had a stof of more than 5 years ,telling myself I needed to pick it up again and then...do nothing with it.
This summer I started again and I wondered why I did'nt do this before.
I like to experiment ,inclusive the faillures. They learn me a lot.
My appollogies when my English is not so good ,I just try.
My last purchase for PM is the coffeegrinder. It seems to be a good toy for me.
You will hear from me again.

Re: New here

Welcome! smile

I am "new" here, as well..although I have been lurking for ages..lol.  I visit almost every morning, to read the posts..and I LOVE to check out all of the new gallery adds!  Everyone here, is so very inspirational...awesome work!

I have worked with PM, for a few years...and currently have a host of projects going on, at once.  I do have a problem with completion...as while I work on one project, I get tons of new ideas, start another, ...so on , and so on..lol.  I sit here, right now..looking at 4 PM projects...begging for my attention. yikes(  SO...I vow to finish them..so as to place them in my very own gallery! smile

I am a single Mom, and Mixed Media Artist.  I have 2 beautiful kiddo's...one with special needs...so, I work from home.  Tend to kids, do a lil' artwork, tend to kids, do a lil' artwork...you get the idea. wink  I don't think I have ever met a medium that I didn't like!  PM, is high on the list, of course.  I am especially excited, as I just acquired a supplier of the, most fine...powder like..sawdust.  I plan on working with that a little, today.  It's the "little things"..that excite me so! smile

Anyway...I am happy to be here, and look forward to participating, and getting to know you all better.

Sincerely..

Paulette

Re: New here

I should have checked my message before I posted it.I made typefaults.Sorry.
Paulette ,nice that you posted too.
I have the same problem as you have.I am working on more than one object at the same time too.
When I am busy , several other ideas come up and I hardly can wait to start another experiment.
With PM you have to wait till it dried ,so you have the possibility to start something new,use the dryingtime[is that a word?].

Re: New here

Welcome to the board, fellow PMers!

Perfect English is not required here, so don't worry about that. If we don't understand what you mean, we shall ask.

I had to laugh at Paulette's "problem with completion"!
YES, YES, YES!  Just think of it as "complete drying time" and move on when you can.

Re: New here

Thanks for the welcome jimo, and Sue! smile

YES!..Creativity is a constant.  I will count my blessings, though..because it's much worse to be stuck without any creative notions..been there, too...yikes! yikes

And Messy...My creativity is never "clean"..lol!  Try as I might, to keep my workspace tidy...it never stays that way.  I have to laugh, when I hear of things being stuck to cats, kids, etc...because it is JUST like that, at my house! :p

Here's wishing you all a peaceful, productive day! smile

Re: New here

Welcome Jimo and Paulette. Here we have many good information to share.

I make the same you do. I work in many pieces at the same time but I don't think that is a problem. Other day I've tried to make a pig but my work has succeeded in a dog!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  :-((((((( But no problem it was nice and funny!!

Nice to meet you here.

Re: New here

Thanks, Shali smile

Yes..many works evolve into something other than we originally intended.  That's part of the beauty of creation, I think.  (Not unlike us, eh?) smile  For whatever reason, you had a dog that was ready to be born.  The pig must have gotten sidetracked, in the creation line...maybe by a doughnut, or something..lol.  (Please forgive...just drinking my first cup of coffee..hehe)

Happy Thankgiving...or Turkey Day (to those who celebrate)..and Happy Day, to all. big_smile
