Hey Hey Hey

I have sold my first marionette on etsy big_smile  big_smile  big_smile  big_smile  big_smile  big_smile

How happy am I?!?!

It sent me off into pm mode so there are now three finger puppets in the top oven (drying off from the heat from the bottom oven's sunday roast) a half finished mermaid and a slightly oversized marionette.

The latter was a mistake of laughable proportions  (groan) in that I calculated in metric and then had the tape measure over the wrong way and built in inches, also forgetting to allow for the addition of pulp increasing size.  When she is finished I am going to need stilts to operate the strings.

Have updated the gallery accordingly so feel free to have a look.

Re: Hey Hey Hey

I forgot to ask which one did you sell.
I find when I sell something as much as I love selling them a small part of me feels a little sad, silly isn't it.

I don't think it is silly snoozysnowshoes. Our pieces are like our children. We get to see them 'grow up' so it is always sad when they go.

I always feel sad when I sell a piece instead of giving it away for free. Now that is silly! wink

Re: Hey Hey Hey

I sold Pete the Pirate to a guy in New Jersey.  I was quite sad to see him go but also really pleased that someone liked him enough to want him.

I almost sold a glove puppet but that buyer changed her mind.  Oh well!

I am having major hassle with the oversized marionette.  This afternoon the torso pm covering cracked in half and some of it fell off.  I think I have the pulp too wet.  Unfortunately the neck joint fell out as well.  This has called for a really major rethink and redesign.  I think I will go for a change of direction and produce a puppet that can be worked from underneath the dress instead.

Strictly speaking I should be writing an essay on inclusion in primary education, bullet points on multicultural aspects of history and geography in the national curriculum and a letter to my professional tutor.  Groannnn!  I would prefer to be up to my armpits in glue.

Re: Hey Hey Hey

Well done! I always think it's really nice when someone wants anything you've made (and heaven forfend actually pay for it too!). It's gives you a sense of satisfaction and a slightly increased bank account.

and just because I like it...
