Spice racks

Having recently redecorated my kitchen, one of my projects was to paint all my ordinary spice jars with glass paints.  They look great but now I need something practical in which to house them as well as showing off my art work.  Any ideas??

Re: Spice racks

Sorry I can't help you with your question.  I have one of my own.  I've bought some glass jars that have been painted and want to know what to use to remove the dried paint.  Any ideas?

Re: Spice racks

To remove the paint you probably need paint stripper, though very little of it.  Talk to some DIY friends who might have some spare.  Follow the instructions and be careful.
To hold the glasses, if you want to use papier mache, cut the shape in strong card, doubling the thickness if necessary, layer all over then seal and paint or varnish.  If you are new to this, there is plenty of advice in the tutorials on the site.
Remember that with pm you are not restricted to right angles and straight lines.  Your holder could be quite organic in its shape.  If you want to go down this route and need advice, e-mail me.
