Help! I need to make a dog mask for my son's school project

I have been reading on the net all different types of recipes for paste, molding ideas, etc.  I gather from reading the forum that Wallpaper paste is the best, but also adding the liquid starch (but how much?)

My son needs to make a black labrador mask from a book he read.  If anyone would love to walk me through the easiest, but cool looking way to do this I sure would be grateful!

I have never done paper mache' , but I am quite crafty so I'm sure I can figure it out.

Great paste recipes (no flour and water stuff ) I need to keep it pretty simple. but also molding ideas?

I need to make his whole face.

Thanks 8)

I think the same advice here applies as to the "Anubis" thread. Also, anyone interested in mask making would enjoy a visit to the Mask Makers Web (direct link on the links page).
