Hi All;
I was thinking of borrowing a technique from RC model planes. It is
becoming popular to use water based polyurethane varnish instead of epoxy
to fiberglass models. It seems to me a good exterior WBPU would be well
suited to laminated PM, working both as an adhesive and waterproofing.
Tell me what you think.

It certainly sounds like a possibility. Are you going to try it out and post back here with your results? I hope so.
Waterproofing PM is a real trial. The best results so far, came from marine varnish, in experiments. Just make sure you don't miss even the smallest gap, dent or hole, as moisture will find it.

Dear Sue;
Thanks for your encouragement. I do hope to do some testing in the near future. As far as waterproofing goes, it is my hope that the WBPU will soak
into and permeate each layer, forming a paper fiber-polyurethane composite.
The concept is similar to the Taylor Paper/Glass process developed by Molt
Taylor and Jerry Holcomb for constructing light aircraft.
Best Wishes;
