Hello all. Isn't this just a wonderful resource?
I was just sanding a pulp bowl I made over the weekend, and had a thought - can all this dust I'm creating be reused as pulp filler? If anyone's tried this, what sort of texture can I expect? Or, would I be better off simply using this dust as a finely ground pulp and use another filler such as chalk or whatever?

Hi Davey
You can use it as a filler but probably best not on its own. The purpose of filler is simply to fill in all the tiny gaps between larger fibres, making the whole pulp smoother. At the same time, a filler can bring added strength. I use sawdust blitzed in an old electric coffee grinder, together with fine ground chalk.

Thanks David - that's what I thought (and hoped).
Anyone used anything other than chalk or sawdust? I know plenty of experimentation has been done in the past, just wondered if anyone here has their own favourite filler.
