Rain! not on my parade.

Hi there , all you paper duds and dudets sad I am planing to use the paper mache art for our annual Arts Festival and now I am worried about doing this . for fear all of them may go into mulch mode within a day. My idea was to get the community involved in this contest called
Schulpture on the Turf Contest,  using a dowl with a creative peice attached of your own Schulptured animal, masks etc. so I could place them at areas sourrounding the festival. Just spraying these peices with varnish will not work? Can you give me a good reason why not? :?: Mordine

Re: Rain! not on my parade.

You're only looking for a temporary piece so you ought to be OK.  Read Jackie's article about weatherproofing.

I would tend to use brush applied varnish - two or three coats, making sure it gets into all the crevices.

If it really pours, perhaps an umbrella?????
