On the site http://www.falkenart.net/contents.html is the doll “Hat Lady” to be seen. I would like to make this doll with her hat and dress made of Washi Paper, and now comes my question…



Her clothing hangs lose on her, and to my way of thinking that makes it easily damaged, so is there a way to stiffen the washi paper? It would be a shame if after making her that her clothes promptly get damaged or loose their styling. As a second question… is there any way of stopping the washi paper from discolouring? Does anyone have the experience and answers that I am looking for? As this will be my first project using papier maché, any help would be welcome.
