Paper Birds - Diana Beltran

Extraordinary work of this artist, a young Columbian, now living in Bristol, England.

Beautiful work!  I would certainly like to see the bird bases she applies the "feathers" to.

On her website... did you notice the zebra?  Unfinished?

Oooooooooh!  Go to Google Images and type in Diana Beltran Herrera.  Lots and lots of birds and a few fish.  And a caterpillar.  And a couple of monkeys.

Hi David. Thanks for sharing this. I love to see how another craftsperson approaches making birds. When you study a form and try to reproduce it, the method of approach you take says a lot about yourself; her approach is free of my personal limitations, and opens up some unique ideas for me.  She is just amazing, and so young!

Outstandingly realistic pieces--I like the male Northern Cardinal and Belted Kingfisher the best.  I don't think I'd ever have the patience to do all those individual feathers (I usually do them in clusters to save time).
