Making the face

Making the eyes
Making the eyes

Cut 2 half moon shaped pieces of black washi paper for the eyes. Paste and position shapes on the face.

Cut small pieces and glue on both sides to form the eyelids. Lay down from inside upper eyelid toward the outside. Build up until desired shape is achieved. Then do the same for the lower eyelid.

Adding the nose and additional features
Adding the nose and additional features

Add the nose. Add the lips.
I add extra layers to make chubby cheeks on the face.
Hand torn coloured paper is used for the blush.

Making the hair

After you decide the hair length, cut and paste both sides of a strip of paper. Secure one end to the head. Cover the whole head until you achieve the desired style.

Hints:
Start from the base and move up toward the crown.
When I position or glue down I use an awl to minimize flattening of small pieces or small areas.

Final words...

I try to create my children without any race or colour. They are just anyone and
everyone's kids! You can see them through your own eyes anyway you wish.
