The Gruffalo is a children's book by writer and playwright Julia Donaldson, illustrated by Axel Scheffler.
I like the very unique illustrations of Axel Sceffler. So I wanted to make some fun project, I automatically thought about this character.
Gruffalo is about 55 cm high, and the mouse is about 2 cm.

This is another great piece; I love the underbite and nails. Somebody else here at the Papier Mache Resource made a Gruffalo figure a while ago, but I can't remember whom off hand.

I love to work on much smaller pieces - mainly because I have limited room for my working area. I had to work on him in very short intervals. So I had the time to think and rethink my every move. I wanted to capture the style of the original painting. I love Axel Scheffler's art.
