This is the sculpting part. Build up the body and limbs from the wire, first simply twisting dry newspaper around it (can use masking tape, or large strips of p-m'd newspaper). Crumple up larger pieces of newspaper to begin to shape thighs, chest, head etc. Pretty soon do a layer of p-m, but don't be fussy yet. Keep building and shaping till you get what you like. Do in many sessions and let dry in between. When you come back to it you see it in new ways. Sometimes you get out your Stanley knife, chop off offenses and start building again. Here are the two dogs at different stages.
