Maybe you could attach them to a corset or vest type clothing item, which the person could then wear? I imagine running some stiff wire into the arms, like a coat hanger, and then attaching those to the back of the corset would work.

thanks, I had imagined that myself too but the arms are too heavy they have to remain in position/formation. Need precise instructions really. Have enlisted the aid of a theatre wardrobe department now!!!
