Thank-you so much Charisse!! First I coated with gesso, then when it was dry I sprayed water on the wings, then took fluid acrylics and put drops of different colors on them, then sprayed some more with water so that it all kind of ran together. Then I took some Pearl medium, and thinned it way down into a wash and put a coat of that on top. Then I put a crackle medium on top of that and then stained it with black paint and antiquing medium. You can't see them real well, but the silver stripes are actually micro beads!
