A memorial tribute. I sculpted the bird's form in plasticine (non-drying clay), over which I layered tiny paper strips dipped in white glue. I used a craft knife to cut the dried paper shape off of the clay, then paper mached it back together. IAfter some trial and error, I ended up using a wooden skewer for the beak. I embedded a piece of knotted ribbon into the back of the head, then finished with metallic acrylics and markers. The display stand is store bought.
