The general shape of the horse's heads were sculpted using my favored method of newspaper and duct tape. Once I had the 6 forms as desired (3 pairs of 3 different head positions), I was ready to apply the paper mache. Once dry, it was necessary to hallow out the heads. It's essential that they be lightweight, in order for the ballerinas to jump and dance while handling them.....
