We all live behind masks. I’ve spent a fair bit of time in many different pubs and I don’t know whether I’m getting old myself, but I prefer ‘old men’ pubs. I occasionally go for a drink on my own to read the paper and have a quiet drink. Sometimes, but not very often, I might strike up a conversation with one of the old locals. Invariably, the quiet old man in the corner who seemed so insular is only to happy to have a chat and share a few laughs.
I hope and imagine that one day I’ll be the old man in the pub, like my Granddad before me.If you happen to see me say hello….you could even buy us a pint!

Hi Steve!
I LOVE your sculptures! They are so cool and unique and enticing. My first thought is that I'd like to reach out and touch them!! Certainly, in a public setting, people would stand around and talk about your art and want to talk to you about how you made the pieces.
I am an artist in the USA. For 30+ years, I have been doing jewelry and paper art projects but I have never worked in apaer mache! recently, I became enthralled by large brids and was looking for a medum in which wo work to make sculptures of them. In my search, I found this web site and am now EXCITED about getting started in paper mache.
Your work and your enthusiasm are an inspiration for me to get started. And, BTW, I can truly relate to your comments about the art teachers you encountered. When I was in college and taking ONLY art classes, the head of the Art department kept asking me when I was going to start taking the other required courses (like english, math, etc,.) for my degree. I left college and have never looked back. Our success is what we make - not what someone else trains us to do!!
