i thought it was an aperture but it doesnt seem to be.
im going to be making a bird with moving joints and was looking for some ideas for the underneath part.
but i dont know what its called.
i tried sculpture and that aperature word, but nothing.
if anyone understands what im asking and can help find the right word, i would really appreciate it.

Re: The apparatus underneath the paper mache

I think the word your looking for is 'armature'. I use a range of different reclaimed objects as armature for my artwork.

An other word you might prefer is 'skeleton'.
