restoring department store window display, please help!!

I recently acquired an old vintage papier mache department store window display. It was stored in an attic for 10 years so it unfortunally has some wear. I attempted to clean off its face with a barely damp rag and it left a small circle under it's eye. its not very visable, but i think it could be hidden if paint was applied.

What type of paint should I use?, Im afraid to paint it since Im worrying about having the paint match.

Around the character's nose, there is a chip and also some bubbling paint.

The paper mache seems to be durable since it was made in a factory. What would be the best way to blend/paint over the water mark and fix the paint bubbles and nose chip?

Please help i dont know what to do

Here is a link so you can look at it.

I have to agree, I wouldn't do any work to it either. I think imperfections  lend character to vintage pieces.

If you aren't concerned about lowering the value as a collector's item, you could approximate the color of the face and then just paint the entire face so a patch wouldn't show up.
