I'm new at this, but I'm inspired!

I've just come around to the idea of papier mache.  I've had a good look at the galleries, and wonder how you make a lot of the shapes.  I haven't started yet.  I am just finding my creativity, and looking at projects to do.

Thanks

You can often use other lightweight materials as forms or armatures for papier mache. Cardboard, styrofoam, plastic wall insulation foam, 1 and 2-litre plastic bottles, wire mesh, etc.

Other times, you can use existing forms as molds. Lay plastic film over your form, then apply paper strips in several layers. Dry thoroughly, and remove from the original form, peel off the film. Sometimes, you can do it in two pieces to make a 3-dimensional form, putting the raw edges together with more PM strips.

Welcome to the group!
