I finished the first 'sculpture' piece I have ever made with papier-mache. I know it isn't perfect because I am still such a beginner and I am just learning the medium, but since everyone has been so wonderfully helpful to me. I wanted to share the picture with you.

I didn't seal the project, because I was trading it to an artist friend of mine and left it unsealed so she could change the features if she wished. (I know less about how to paint then I do about papier-mache), but I did go to the hardware store and picked up marine varnish for my next project. I live in Canada, and it is the middle of winter. You should of seen the confused look on their face when I asked for boat varnish! It was great.
Thanks again for all your great help. I'd be totally lost if it wasn't for this forum.

Great first cat, Butterbee! Does it have a tail?
I went to a yard sale several years ago, and the owner had a porch railing with three cats lined up on it. They weren't for sale, but I got closer to look at them. The owner said she had made them from PM. She said she made the tails from thick rope, covered with PM, which I thought was a great idea.
